Mining is the extraction of valuable materials or minerals such as ore,
salt, sulfur, and rare gems from clusters. Mining is possible inside caves,
forested or wooded areas, hills, jungles, mountains, rocky regions, desert
terrains, and inside volcanos. Turning on 'toggle sector' will enable
seeing the room sector next to the room name. Different sectors may yield
different types of gems. The level of a gem is based on the area's level
range.
The mining process requires a pickaxe to swing until the center of the
cluster is reached, at which point the cluster will yield a material or
nothing at all. Debris such as rock and dirt may tumble down over the site
during the process and must be cleared away to continue hacking at it.
Until the miner's skill is at least 50%, their pickaxe may break from
the cumulative stress of each swing but once repaired, the mining process
can be continued.
Typing 'mine state' will allow you to examine the area to see if it's a
suitable place to mine, or if you have already started the mining process,
it will allow you to examine the mining site to see if there is debris
covering your cluster or if you are close to reaching the center of the
cluster. If the cluster yields a crafting material, it will automatically be
placed in the crafting inventory.
The 'mine survey' feature allows you to see which resources can be mined
in the room you are in, once you have mastered the mining skill.
Coal is one raw material which can be mined for or alternatively, it can
be created in the Coal Making Chamber in Crafters Forge with the make
command. For 1 coal, 5 blocks of wood are needed in the crafting inventory.
Salt is a resource that is more prevalent in desert regions.
Those skilled in advanced mining have a chance for a cluster to yield more
than one material, and it takes them less time to reach the center of a
cluster.
